I have no idea where THAT came from It just popped out before I knew what I was saying.
Its pretty well recognized in the field of psychology that people sometimes say things they dont intend to. The things we say are often influenced by something important but unacknowledged.
Some feelings may seem unacceptable, scary, foolish, and so forth. One method of dealing with that sort of feeling is to convince ourselves we dont really feel that way. The problem is, if we dont like our feelings they dont just vanish, and will come out in one way or another. It works better to understand and acknowledge that our feelings are real even though we sometimes dont like them. This can allow us to start evaluating, processing, and either accepting or changing them.
